RELX | Reed Elsevier Battle of the Bands Stage

RELX | Reed Elsevier’s commitment to giving back to the community and elevating impact shines through its RELX Cares initiatives, which aim to showcase the diverse talents of its employees while raising funds for deserving beneficiaries. Two recent events, the 9th annual OktobREPHest Battle of the Bands and the 6th Tukar Ilonggo – Abyan sa Musika, exemplify this dedication.

The OktobREPHest Battle of the Bands, held on October 20, 2024, at the Hideaway Resto Grill, raised more than Php100,000 for the benefit of 220 Kapatid Kita Mahal Kita (KKMK) Foundation scholars. Six employee bands from various RELX divisions, along with non-competing acts, showcased their musical prowess. FAHCares emerged as the grand champion, while UncleBam secured the first runner-up position and the coveted People’s Choice Band of the Year accolade. TranCSOund from CSO claimed the second runner-up spot. The event was a remarkable success, with 291 tickets sold and attended by employees, families, and loved ones.

Meanwhile, the Tukar Ilonggo – Abyan sa Musika, celebrated its 6th year on October 13 at The Cave Superclub and Music Hall. Five employee bands captivated the audience, and the fundraising efforts exceeded expectations, amassing an impressive Php150,000 for the Friends of Cancer Kids Iloilo Foundation, Inc. (FCKIFI). V of Spode from EdOps emerged as the 2024 Tukar Ilonggo: Abyan sa Musika Champion, while FAHdayon from FAH secured the first runner-up position and the People’s Choice Band of the Year award. ARESOH from RSO was named the second runner-up. The event evolved into a family gathering, with employees and their loved ones supporting the cause.

Both events showcased the exceptional talents of RELX | Reed Elsevier employees while contributing to the noble causes of supporting KKMK scholars and cancer patients through FCKIFI. The company’s commitment to giving back and fostering a culture of caring is evident in these successful RELX Cares initiatives.
